Phil and Becky Davis grew up in California, in the United States. Phil earned a B.A. in biblical literature at Azusa Pacific University and an M.A. in theology at Fuller Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 1986 in the Wesleyan Church. In June of 2009 Phil received a "Master of Advanced Studies in Theology and Religion" from the Katholieke Universiteit te Leuven, in Leuven, Belgium. Becky earned a B.A. in music education from Azusa Pacific University.
After 11 years of pastoral ministry in California and North Carolina, Phil and Becky went to Suriname, South America, as Wesleyan missionaries. They served two 3-year terms there. While in Suriname, Phil helped to organize and teach in the Wesleyan Bible Institute. Becky taught music in the church and in the international school where their children attended. In 2007, they followed the Lord's unmistakable leading to Leuven, Belgium. Here Phil is currently studying towards a PhD in theology at the Katholieke Universiteit te Leuven, focusing on postmodernism. His purpose is to use what he has learned to assist pastors and missionaries, especially in Europe, as they deal with this prevalent way of thinking in the current culture. Becky is also studying part-time towards a Master's degree in Theology and Religious Studies from K.U.L.
Phil and Becky have four sons, Jonathan (1988), Ryan (1990), Jeremy (1994) and Matthew (1996). Jonathan and Ryan are attending universities in the United States. Jeremy and Matthew are with Phil and Becky in Belgium, where they are homeschooled.
